Mr. Westenhoefer is an attorney admitted to practice law in the state of New York. In 1997, he joined the U.S. Air Force, and in the years that followed, studied the Russian language at the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center and lived and worked in Japan. As part of his regular duties as an airborne cryptologic linguist, he was a computer systems operator, a UNIX-based systems administrator, and a security manager in a sensitive compartmented information facility. He developed and maintained resources on his squadron’s classified intranet, supervised and trained individuals on computer systems, and revised the training program for his entire career field, for which he received the Air Force Commendation Medal for meritorious service.
Upon returning to civilian life, Mr. Westenhoefer earned Bachelor's Degrees from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, having completed a major in Economics, a major in International Business, and a minor in Finance. In 2007, he also became an ISC2 Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) based on his security-related experience in the military. His studies led him to become a research analyst in the business-to-business technology market at a firm in Boston, Massachusetts. He conducted research, wrote and published studies, and advised business executives, directors, and managers on business trends and best practices. He later attended Suffolk University Law School and opened his own law firm in Brooklyn, New York and immediately entered into regular courtroom litigation. For the past several years his legal work has focused almost exclusively on business law and litigation.
Mr. Westenhoefer is an active member of the American Bar Association (ABA), the New York State Bar Association, and the Brooklyn Bar Association. Years of work in the military, in business, and as a lawyer has brought him extensive experience handling complicated matters. His combined education and interpersonal skills make him exceptionally suited to respond to clients' needs and communicate effectively, and he enjoys the opportunity to meet business leaders and and help them succeed in their endeavors.
